Ryu Soo-young Showcases His Love for Wife Park Ha-sun on 'Ryu Haksaeng Eonam Seon'

Actor Ryu Soo-young displayed his affection for his wife, Park Ha-sun, in the latest episode of T-Cast's E Channel show 'Ryu Haksaeng Eonam Seon'.

In the fifth episode, the show explored Brunei's versatile seasoning 'Sambal', learning both the basic and green chili flavors. The successor to the 'Baekban Master' introduced the concept of 'Aga Aga', a term representing the Bruneian 'hand taste'. Ryu Soo-young expressed his endless love for his family, saying, "I can't believe I can make this... My wife would love it if I made it for her."

Meanwhile, Yoon Kyung-ho, armed with a dad joke about dressing in a 'bourgeois style' in Brunei, joined Ryu Soo-young and Ki-hyun on a water taxi to a restaurant. Upon encountering 14 different Bruneian 'side dishes', Ryu Soo-young marveled, "This is truly a full-course meal." The trio was startled by the sight of 'Ambuyat', a staple food in Brunei resembling a giant slime. Ambuyat, which tastes similar to mung bean jelly, became a staple in Brunei after World War II.

Yoon Kyung-ho, captivated by Ambuyat, expressed his desire to create a summer dish. However, Ryu Soo-young teased him, asking if it was "a day for failure," while Ki-hyun recalled Yoon's first recipe disaster in Portugal. Undeterred, Yoon returned to their accommodation to attempt making cold rice with Ambuyat. After a failed first attempt, he sought help from Ryu Soo-young, managing to achieve the right texture, though it differed from the restaurant's version.

Yoon's frustration soon spread to Ryu Soo-young, who attempted to make Sambal sauce with Korean ingredients, only to exclaim, "It's burnt! It's ruined!" He calmly salvaged the sauce and began frying chicken tenders. Ryu Soo-young proudly introduced his 'Spicy Mozzarella Chicken Burger', calling it the culmination of his five years of culinary broadcasting experience.

Meanwhile, 'Dessert Prince' Ki-hyun ventured into the world of desserts, inspired by Brunei's traditional sweets to create 'Pandan Honey Seolgi'. Using pandan leaves, a key ingredient in kaya jam, he sprinkled natural sugar powder between rice flour layers. However, a crisis arose when Ryu Soo-young suggested lowering the heat.

The final product resembled pancakes more than 'Honey Seolgi'. Ki-hyun lamented, "Ryu Soo-young said to prevent water from dripping on the lid while steaming. It turned out soft like chewy rice cake." Despite the concerns, the production team quickly devoured the trio's first-day recipes, giving them rave reviews.

'Ryu Haksaeng Eonam Seon' airs every Monday at 9 PM on E Channel starting from the 16th.
