Professor Seo Kyung-duk and Actress Song Hye-kyo Donate 10,000 Korean History Guides to Saipan and Tinian

In celebration of the 80th anniversary of Korean Liberation, Professor Seo Kyung-duk from Sungshin Women's University and actress Song Hye-kyo have teamed up to donate 10,000 Korean history guides to Saipan and Tinian.

The guides, available in both Korean and English, have been donated to the Saipan World Resort, a popular destination for Korean tourists, and are available at the reception. The guidebooks provide detailed information on the forced labor of Koreans in Saipan and Tinian, the Korean Memorial Monument, the Japanese military comfort women caves, and the atomic bomb loading site.

Professor Seo stated, "The preservation status of Korean historical sites overseas is not very good." He emphasized, "The continuous interest and visits from our citizens are the greatest force in preserving these historical sites abroad."

For those unable to visit in person, the original files can be downloaded from the website 'Stories of Our History Abroad.'

This initiative marks the first project commemorating the 80th anniversary of Liberation. Seo and Song plan to conduct two more projects this year.

Over the past 14 years, Seo's planning and Song's sponsorship have led to the donation of Korean language guides, Korean signs, and relief works of independence activists to 38 historical sites overseas.
