On October 12, Choi Hwa-jung's YouTube channel, 'Hello, This is Choi Hwa-jung,' released a video titled 'Revealing All the Must-Have Items in Choi Hwa-jung's Bag (+Waiting List Restaurants, Dish Shopping)'.
In the video, Choi announced her trip to Paju to purchase dishware. She expressed her desire to buy a Korean dish set, mentioning, "The dish I used for soy sauce noodles before was beautiful." She explained that she traced back the origin of the gifted dish to a workshop in Paju's publishing district and decided to visit to find a similar product. Choi also teased a food adventure, saying, "There's an amazing restaurant in Paju."
For the long journey, Choi packed her version of in-flight meals, including iced Americano and chocolate bread. She mentioned, "I also brought a lunchbox," and added, "I need to coat my stomach with protein by eating boiled eggs first."
The production team noticed a transparent vinyl bag from a luxury brand as soon as they departed. They asked, "Is it for sale, or do you get it when you buy something from the brand?" Choi sighed, as if surprised by their lack of luxury shopping experience, and responded with a playful "Oh, really."
Despite the team's casual treatment of the bag, Choi revealed she bought it 6-7 years ago for 750,000 won, along with a matching pouch, and proceeded to show the items inside.
Choi first introduced a mouth spray, saying, "COVID-19 is trending again." She also showed enzymes for the upcoming food adventure and a tint for her lips.
As she began her journey to Paju, Choi reminisced about recording with the band Yuk Jung-wan in Paju, where they brought acorn jelly, acorn pancakes, sorghum pancakes, and the then-popular young radish barley kimchi, hinting at a visit to a famous restaurant.
Upon arriving at the workshop, Choi carefully examined each dish and began her shopping spree. Noting the lack of small plates at home, she purchased four dishes. She shared her criteria for choosing dishes, stating, "They should feel good when used," and preferred irregularly shaped dishes that feel comfortable when held with both hands.
She emphasized the tactile sensation, preferring "soft, clay-made textures" over glossy ones, which are pleasant for both washing and serving.
After her shopping spree, Choi headed to a famous acorn jelly restaurant. There, she enjoyed a variety of dishes, including refreshing muksabal, acorn pancakes, barley young radish kimchi, and acorn jelly, showcasing a true 'mukbang'.
Choi was particularly impressed by the muksabal, exclaiming, "Some people lose weight just by eating this in the summer. I did that."
After her meal, Choi thanked the band members for always bringing acorns during recordings, saying, "I enjoyed it," and concluded the video by stating, "Now, I'll head back to the car and enjoy the chocolate croissant I prepared as an in-flight dessert."
