Korean Entertainer Lee Kyung-kyu Clarifies Medication Incident Amid Police Investigation

Veteran Korean entertainer Lee Kyung-kyu, born in 1960, has addressed reports of being caught by police for driving under the influence of medication. Lee clarified, stating, "It was merely a reaction to my panic disorder medication," and added, "The police investigation is complete, and all procedures have been finalized."

On the 9th, Lee spoke to a media outlet, confirming, "I did visit the hospital on the 8th due to a cold, but the reports of me visiting an indoor golf practice range are false." He further explained, "A urine test showed a positive line. The medication I take contains sensitive ingredients, so I always carry the prescription for my panic disorder medication. After showing the prescription, I was allowed to go home." Lee expressed his frustration, saying, "Isn't it too much to accuse someone who took medication for an illness of 'drug use'?"

Lee admitted to mistakenly driving someone else's car. He explained, "I took the wrong car. The car color was the same in the parking lot, and the staff handed me the wrong key." He continued, "I realized my bag wasn't in the car and immediately returned it to the parking lot. Meanwhile, the car owner noticed the car was missing and reported it stolen. The situation was resolved when I returned the car."

Previously, on the afternoon of the 8th, Lee was investigated by police after driving a foreign car identical to his own from a parking lot in Gangnam, Seoul. Although his breathalyzer test was negative, a rapid drug test showed a positive result. Lee reportedly explained to the police that he was taking medication for panic disorder.
