Actress Jang Shin-young recently shared her thoughts on working with co-star Oh Chang-seok in the upcoming MBC daily drama 'Woman Who Swallowed the Sun'.
On the 5th, a press conference for the new drama was held at the Golden Mouse Hall in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul. Attendees included actors Jang Shin-young, Seo Ha-jun, Yoon Ah-jung, Oh Chang-seok, Lee Ru-da, and director Kim Jin-hyung.
'Woman Who Swallowed the Sun' is a revenge drama about a woman who stands against a conglomerate in the name of her daughter in a world where victims are disguised as perpetrators. Jang Shin-young plays the lead role of Baek Seol-hee, who embarks on a journey of vengeance.
Jang Shin-young described her character, Baek Seol-hee, as "a positive person who helps those in need," adding, "I think my similarity with Seol-hee is about 50%. I try to live positively, so through Seol-hee, I want to become a brighter and stronger person."
She humorously commented on Oh Chang-seok's character, saying, "He's really a bad person. He abandoned Seol-hee, who devoted everything to him in his youth, for his dreams. While acting, I thought, 'Is there really such an annoying man?'"
When asked about her chemistry with Oh Chang-seok, Jang Shin-young said, "We had worked together before, but we didn't talk much then. However, I found out he's a very comfortable person, so filming was easy."
Meanwhile, Jang Shin-young developed a romantic relationship with Kang Kyung-joon, her co-star from the JTBC drama 'Thorn Flower', and they married in 2018 after five years of dating. They have two sons: Jeong-an, from Jang's first marriage, and Jeong-woo, born in 2019 after their marriage.
'Woman Who Swallowed the Sun' is set to premiere on the 9th at 7:05 PM.
