Sung Han-bin has taken over as the new MC for the 'Street Fighter' series, replacing Kang Daniel who stepped down after four years. Sung, who debuted just two years ago, has quickly become known as 'Mnet's son' and is receiving high expectations from fans.
On the 27th, a production presentation for Mnet's 'World of Street Woman Fighter' (WSWF) was held at SJ Kunsthalle in Gangnam, Seoul. The event was attended by the production team, MC Sung Han-bin, fight judges Park Jin-young, Mike Song, and the BUMSUP 9 members (Gabi, Noze, Lee Jung, Lee Hye, Lip J, Monica, Aiki, Honey J, Hyojin Choi).
'WSWF' is the third season of Mnet's mega-hit 'Street Woman Fighter' and is an international competition featuring participants from five countries: South Korea, New Zealand, the United States, Japan, and Australia. This season includes six crews: AG SQUAD, BUMSUP, MOTIV, OSAKA Ojo Gang, RHTokyo, and ROYAL FAMILY.
Regarding his role as MC, Sung Han-bin expressed, "It's an honor to be the sole MC for a program I enjoyed so much. As the show expands globally, I see this as an opportunity to learn and grow." He added, "I want to be known as an 'all-rounder', showcasing my diverse talents in hosting, visuals, dance skills, and reactions."
Sung Han-bin, who debuted in 2023 as the runner-up on 'Boys Planet', shared, "Having come from a survival program myself, I understand the importance of instinct and spontaneity in such shows. I focused on these aspects while preparing as an MC." He also mentioned his participation in the main fighter song 'Champion', describing it as a natural and instinctive track full of passion and energy, which will enhance the viewing experience.
When asked about the challenges of being an MC, Sung said, "Before the first recording, I studied the team names and dancers' names from various countries. Memorizing lines wasn't easy, but I prepared diligently. On set, I focused on naturally bringing out the dancers' instincts. Once I saw them perform, my nerves eased, and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience, leaving me with great memories."
'WSWF' premieres on the 27th at 10 PM.
