EXO member and solo artist Baekhyun has set the stage for a harmonious relationship between his agency, One Hundred, and KBS. Ahead of his comeback, Baekhyun premiered his new track on KBS 2TV's 'Music Bank'.
On the 16th, Baekhyun unveiled the stage for his pre-release track 'Chocolate' for the first time on 'Music Bank'. Dressed in black, Baekhyun exuded a captivating charm reminiscent of dark chocolate, showcasing a performance that traversed R&B and ballad genres, proving once again that he is a genre unto himself.
This comeback stage is particularly noteworthy as it signifies a reconciliation between One Hundred and KBS. Previously, in March, One Hundred had accused KBS of unfair treatment towards their artist Xiumin, claiming that KBS unofficially communicated that it was impossible for Xiumin to appear on programs like 'Music Bank' featuring SM artists.
In response, One Hundred's artists, including singer Lee Mu-jin and entertainer Lee Soo-geun, declared a boycott against KBS. However, industry insiders report that the frosty relations between One Hundred and KBS have thawed, with amicable discussions taking place ahead of Baekhyun's comeback. Notably, no SM Entertainment artists were included in the 'Music Bank' lineup that day.
