UNIS, the popular K-pop group, has successfully concluded their music show promotions for their latest mini-album 'SWICY'.
The group, consisting of members Jin Hyun-joo, Nana, Jelly Danka, Kotoko, Bang Yoon-ha, Elisia, Oh Yoon-ah, and Lim Seo-won, wrapped up their three-week promotional activities with a final performance on SBS's 'Inkigayo' on the 4th.
Through their agency, F&F Entertainment, UNIS expressed their gratitude, stating, "We were happy to receive so much love for our new endeavors. We are truly thankful and love our fans, EverAfter, for their constant support. It was a joy to meet them often."
The title track 'SWICY' captivated audiences with its unique blend of UNIS's lively and sweet-and-spicy charm. The catchy melody and witty performance perfectly matched the eight members, sparking a challenge boom on social media.
Innovative promotional strategies also contributed to the 'SWICY' craze. While artists typically create performances optimized for challenges and cover each other's songs to promote new releases, UNIS broke the mold by collaborating with actor Hyun Bong-sik to create a viral film that presented 'SWICY' situations in an advertisement format. This video was also used as a comeback clip on 'Show Champion' and 'The Show', generating significant buzz.
UNIS's achievements with 'SWICY' are remarkable. The album topped iTunes charts in 14 countries and made its mark on domestic music charts, ranking 62nd on Melon Hot 100 and 3rd on Bugs real-time chart, showcasing the global attention they have garnered.
Riding this momentum, UNIS achieved a career high by winning their first music show trophy on 'Show Champion'.
Although their music show promotions have ended, UNIS's diverse activities continue. The group is set to embark on their first Asia tour, meeting global fans. Additionally, the eight members will perform on various stages both domestically and internationally, maintaining the 'SWICY' momentum.
UNIS's second mini-album 'SWICY' embodies the global trend of sweet and spicy harmony through music. The album includes five tracks of various genres, including the title track 'SWICY', 'What Are You Doing?', 'DDANG!', 'Good Feeling', and 'Spring Rain'.
