Girls' Generation's Taeyeon Shares Fan Statement Demanding Feedback and Compensation for Canceled Tokyo Concert

Girls' Generation's Taeyeon has shared a statement from her global fan union demanding feedback and compensation following the cancellation of her Tokyo concert.

On the 24th, Taeyeon posted the full statement from the Taeyeon Global Fan Union on her social media, titled 'Statement Demanding Feedback and Compensation for the Cancellation of Taeyeon's Concert 'The TENSE' in Tokyo.'

The fan union outlined five demands in their statement, calling for SM Entertainment to provide feedback on what they described as a unilateral and insincere cancellation notice. They urged the company to 'identify the exact responsibility for this incident and impose appropriate disciplinary actions on SM 1 Center and related personnel,' 'issue an official apology and explanation through Taeyeon's official channels,' 'prepare a substantial compensation plan and share specific details,' 'ensure transparent operations and clear notifications to prevent similar incidents,' and 'promptly announce and guide future concert plans directly from SM Entertainment.'

The global fan union emphasized, "We strongly caution against the situation where the blame for this incident is shifted onto the artist personally," adding that they aim to protect Taeyeon from the burden of having to communicate directly with fans.

Taeyeon's solo concert 'The TENSE,' celebrating her 10th anniversary, was scheduled to take place on the 19th and 20th at Tokyo's Ariake Arena but was abruptly canceled shortly before the event. SM Entertainment announced on the 17th that "the concert scheduled for the 19th and 20th at Tokyo Ariake Arena has been canceled due to equipment used in the Asia tour not arriving in Japan in time, making it difficult to prepare adequately for the performance."

Taeyeon has previously expressed dissatisfaction with her agency, SM Entertainment. There was controversy over her absence from the SM 30th Anniversary Concert held in January. At the time, Taeyeon communicated with fans via a platform, stating, "I wanted to perform on stage and was eager to prepare two or three songs, but to put it simply, the company didn't prepare, so I couldn't perform at all."

She further expressed, "It's not that I lack motivation or don't want to perform. I am sincere about the stage and want to do my best, but they don't support me well, so I'm seriously considering what this is all about."
