The band LUCY is ready to make waves in the music industry this spring with their new release.
On the 23rd at 6 PM, LUCY will drop their sixth mini-album 'Wawanchang' across various music streaming platforms.
'Wawanchang' marks a new chapter for LUCY, who have consistently delivered diverse music akin to the journey of a flower from bloom to fall. The album represents breaking, shattering, and redefining sounds, encapsulated in the term 'Wawanchang.' Jo Wonsang, a member who has produced all of LUCY's albums, leads the production of 'Wawanchang,' infusing each track with LUCY's unique style and message.
The album features double title tracks 'Awake' and 'Hippo.' 'Awake,' pre-released on the 27th of last month, has been well-received for its refreshing and catchy charm, characteristic of LUCY. The track's bouncy drum beats, reminiscent of waking up, quickly climbed the charts on major Korean music sites like Melon's Latest Chart, HOT100, and Bugs' real-time chart.
In contrast, 'Hippo' stands out with its addictive bass loop and contrasting lyrical melody, featuring playful FX sounds that add unexpected twists throughout the song. The track's story, 'You unknowingly fall into the hippo's swamp,' highlights its catchy sound that lingers in the listener's mind.
Additionally, 'Wawanchang' includes six well-crafted tracks such as 'More Than Me,' which conveys the poignant longing for a departed lover with rocking sounds and intense vocals. 'Ttukttak' features fresh lyrics comparing a shy speaker to a robot in disguise, paired with a catchy melody. 'Reasons Not to Hate' offers a warm and lyrical atmosphere, empathizing with and comforting wounds caused by hatred. Lastly, 'Bleu,' written, composed, and arranged solely by member Choi Sangyeop, expresses a desire to break free from gloom and blossom freely.
LUCY's mini-album 'Wawanchang' will be available on all major music platforms at 6 PM. Following the release, LUCY will hold their seventh solo concert 'Wawanchang' from April 2nd to 4th at Korea University's Hwajeong Gymnasium in Seoul, with all tickets sold out.
