K-pop sensation Jeon Somi showcased her down-to-earth personality by eating a discarded pancake on the latest episode of JTBC's variety show 'Street Food Fighter.'
The episode, which aired on the 15th, featured actors Ryu Soo-young, Hwang Kwang-hee, Bae In-hyuk, singer Jeon Somi, and model Shin Hyun-ji as they embarked on their first food-selling venture in Spain.
Their first location was La Caleta Beach, where Ryu Soo-young introduced spicy pork belly and squid chive pancakes as the main dishes. He ambitiously set a goal to sell 100 servings on the first day, saying, "I want to test myself."
However, Bae In-hyuk, who was in charge of the pancakes, faced challenges from the start. The pancakes were not cooking properly, leading to several being discarded. A flustered Bae admitted, "It's different from yesterday," while Hwang Kwang-hee advised, "I think you need to make them again."
Upon seeing Bae discard the failed pancakes, Jeon Somi approached him, saying, "So you failed, huh?" Bae confessed, "I almost cried earlier." In a light-hearted moment, Jeon Somi retrieved a discarded pancake from the trash, tasted it, and remarked, "It actually tastes good," bringing laughter to the scene.
Bae soon realized the issue stemmed from excess moisture in the pre-made batter. After adjusting the recipe, he successfully created delicious pancakes, earning praise from Ryu Soo-young, who commented, "You could sell these at Gwangjang Market."
Despite selling only 31 servings on the first day, Ryu Soo-young remained optimistic, declaring, "Tomorrow, we'll sell 100 servings." The next location was set to be in front of City Hall, with a menu featuring seafood rice cakes and honey chicken. Ryu explained, "We need to make the seafood rice cakes generous. Our country has a strong understanding of chicken, and this area is famous for honey."
