BoA has shared her thoughts for the first time since apologizing for a controversial live broadcast while under the influence. On October 15, the singer took to the fan community platform Weverse to express her feelings, stating, "In the past few years, I've faced difficult times both professionally and personally. Despite this, I believed I was doing my best."
She continued, "I realized that my efforts might have been uncomfortable for some. In the past, I believed that working hard would lead to success, but both the world and I have changed. This change has led me to repeatedly question, 'Is this the right place for me?'"
BoA explained, "I couldn't let go of music because without it, my life feels like it would completely collapse. I wanted to connect with you all through music, in any form or way possible."
She added, "Even in moments when I felt like I couldn't get back up, music and all of you were there. I don't know how much longer I can perform on stage, but I believe we still have passionate potential within us."
Finally, BoA expressed her gratitude, saying, "I want to harness that strength with you all once again. Thank you to everyone who has always believed in me, worried about me, and supported me quietly."
Previously, on October 5, BoA conducted an Instagram live broadcast with Jeon Hyun-moo while under the influence. During the broadcast, she leaned on Jeon Hyun-moo's shoulder and responded to a viewer's question about dating Park Na-rae by saying, "I can't date her. Oppa is too good for her." Jeon Hyun-moo quickly ended the live, stating, "The company is in an uproar."
Following the broadcast, BoA faced criticism for her 'rude' remarks. On October 7, she issued an apology, saying, "I apologize to everyone who felt uncomfortable due to my thoughtless actions and immature behavior." She specifically addressed her comments about Park Na-rae, saying, "I apologize for making inappropriate remarks in the absence of the person involved, and I am grateful for the understanding." BoA also expressed regret to her fans, saying, "I'm sorry for disappointing the fans who have supported me for so long."
