Singer-songwriter Roy Kim has been selected as the featured artist for Melon's renowned ballad playlist, 'The Ballad'.
Melon, a leading music streaming platform, curates playlists across various genres, with 'The Ballad' being a dedicated ballad playlist updated weekly with both popular and new tracks. This playlist garners over 300,000 streams weekly.
Roy Kim, known for his seasonal ballad hits like 'Spring Spring Spring' and 'What Love Is', recently released a new single titled 'As It Is'. This track was first introduced as an unreleased song during his solo concert 'Roy Note' last year and has now been officially released with a band arrangement.
Melon has placed 'As It Is' as the first track on 'The Ballad' playlist and has chosen Roy Kim as the cover artist. In addition to 'The Ballad', Melon offers a variety of playlists including 'Pop uP' for pop music and 'Idologic' for idol music.
The 'The Ballad' playlist featuring Roy Kim will be promoted through outdoor advertisements in the Gangnam area of Seoul and on Melon's official social media channels. Additionally, Melon Magazine will showcase Roy Kim's album cover and behind-the-scenes footage from his official video shoot.
A fan participation event is also underway. Fans can participate by capturing the screen while listening to 'As It Is' on 'The Ballad' playlist after connecting with Roy Kim as a fan. By submitting their screenshots along with a review, participants have a chance to win a guitar pick and tin case set. The event runs until the 9th, with 10 winners to be selected.
