South Korean Actress Kim Go-eun Donates to Myanmar Earthquake Relief Efforts

South Korean actress Kim Go-eun has made a generous donation to aid the victims of the recent earthquake in Myanmar.

On November 2, the NGO Good Neighbors announced that Kim Go-eun donated 50 million won (approximately $42,000) to support the residents and children affected by the 7.7 magnitude earthquake in Myanmar. The donation will be used for emergency relief efforts.

Kim Go-eun expressed her sorrow, stating, "I was heartbroken to hear about the people in Myanmar who lost their homes in an instant. I send my heartfelt support to the residents in the affected areas who are in mourning."

Kim Joong-gon, Secretary-General of Good Neighbors, expressed gratitude, saying, "We deeply appreciate actress Kim Go-eun for her warm-hearted contribution to the residents and children in the earthquake-affected areas. We ask for more people to show interest so that essential help can reach those whose daily lives have been disrupted by the earthquake."

Kim Go-eun has a history of philanthropy, having donated 100 million won in 2020 to support low-income families in South Korea affected by COVID-19. She is a member of the Good Neighbors' 'The Neighbors Honors Club,' a group of philanthropic leaders who have donated over 100 million won to the organization for positive change. In 2023, she also donated 30 million won for emergency relief efforts following the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria, continuing her consistent charitable activities.

Additionally, on October 27, Kim Go-eun contributed 50 million won to the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association to aid recovery efforts for the wildfire damage in Ulsan, Gyeongbuk, and Gyeongnam regions.
