Seo Ye-ji candidly shared her feelings about the rumors surrounding her.
On the October 30th episode of TV CHOSUN's 'Baekban Journey with Heo Young-man,' Seo Ye-ji joined Heo Young-man on a culinary trip to Wonju, Gangwon Province.
Impressed by Seo Ye-ji's hearty appetite, Heo Young-man asked, "Do you eat two meals a day or three?" Seo Ye-ji replied, "I eat four meals. I stay up late, so I get hungry at night." Heo Young-man commented, "For someone who eats at night, you manage your figure well." Seo Ye-ji attributed her physique to her natural body type and regular swimming and Pilates. She added, "In my 20s, I was grateful, but since I turned 31 or 32, late-night eating doesn't shed off easily. I guess it's aging in my 30s." To this, the 70-year-old Heo Young-man humorously responded, "If you think your 30s are aging..."
Reflecting on her 12-year acting career, Seo Ye-ji said, "I think I've played a lot of dark roles. They were always characters with a lot of wounds seeking revenge." She continued, "It was stressful. People assumed my personality was like the malicious characters I played, making it hard to meet people."
When Heo Young-man asked if she ever felt frustrated in her acting career, Seo Ye-ji admitted, "There were many moments, but since it's not just a day or two, I thought I had to accept and move on." She added, "As I stayed silent, I realized more people misunderstood me than I thought, and over time, it became a huge stress." Heo Young-man advised, "The most important thing is not to read comments."
This conversation brought to mind the rumors that have surrounded Seo Ye-ji. In 2021, she was embroiled in allegations of gaslighting a former partner, along with accusations of academic fraud and mistreatment of staff.
Seo Ye-ji took a break from her career amidst these controversies and was later caught up in rumors involving Kim Soo-hyun. She had previously worked with Kim Soo-hyun in the 2020 tvN drama 'It's Okay to Not Be Okay.' Following this, she signed an exclusive contract with Gold Medalist, a company founded by Kim Soo-hyun's cousin, which fueled dating rumors. Gold Medalist was also the agency of the late Kim Sae-ron from January 1, 2020, to December 1, 2022.
On October 13, Seo Ye-ji expressed her complex emotions in a post on her official fan cafe. She wrote, "As a human being, it's really overwhelming, exhausting, tedious, sad, suffocating, and I keep enduring." She added, "I wish it would stop. I have no connection with him or his brother. I don't even know why I have to clarify this, but today I'm feeling particularly frustrated."
