As of March 26, the last post on NewJeans' unofficial NJZ account was a teaser for their new song 'Pit Stop' before their performance at Hong Kong ComplexCon on March 23. No new posts have been made since, and the comment section is disabled, contrasting with their usual frequent interactions with fans.
Former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin has also disabled comments on her social media account.
At ComplexCon, NewJeans debuted 'Pit Stop' and performed under their individual names—Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein—rather than as NewJeans or NJZ. They informed fans, "This might be our last performance for a while. We have decided to temporarily halt all activities in compliance with the court's decision. It's not an easy choice, but it's necessary right now."
Minji added, "We knew this wouldn't be easy, but we will voice our concerns to protect each other while accepting the court's decision and process. We don't regret our choice." She assured fans, "We will take time to regroup and come back stronger. This is not the end, and we will return to meet you all with bright smiles."
However, with the lawsuit between the five members and ADOR set for April, there are concerns about an extended hiatus. Industry experts predict the legal battle could last from one to three years.
NewJeans had claimed their contract with ADOR was terminated in November last year and planned to pursue independent activities. However, the court's decision has halted these plans, preventing them from engaging in any commercial activities as public figures, including music, broadcasting, events, and advertising. The five members have filed an objection to the court's injunction on March 21.
