On October 24, Lara publicly shared her sexual orientation for the first time on the fan communication platform Weverse, revealing that she is attracted to the same sex.
Lara disclosed that she first came out to her family, acknowledging the fear she felt, especially as a person of color. Despite these challenges, she expressed pride in her identity, stating, "I am proud of myself."
She extended her gratitude to the many people in her life and her fans for their support, saying, "I am proud of myself. I am not ashamed at all. I consider it a part of who I am."
Lara is a member of KATSEYE, a group produced by HYBE and Geffen Records, which debuted in August last year. The group, consisting of members Daniela, Lara, Manon, Megan, Sophia, and Yoonchae, released their debut album 'SIS (Soft Is Strong)' with the title track 'Touch.' They were also named in NME's list of 'Artists to Watch This Year.'
KATSEYE is set to perform at Lollapalooza, the largest music festival in the United States, held at Grant Park in Chicago, Illinois, from July 31 to August 3.
