The popular KBS1 documentary program 'Walking into the World' embarks on a journey to Kyrgyzstan to experience the K-culture wave firsthand.
Airing on the 5th, the program celebrates World Korean Day by visiting Kyrgyzstan, often referred to as the Alps of Central Asia. The 'Walking into the World' team visits the Bishkek Sejong Institute, which marks its 11th anniversary. Since its inception in 2013 with just 58 students, the institute has seen a remarkable increase to 1,600 students last year. The team aims to witness the K-culture popularity they previously experienced in France, now in Kyrgyzstan.
The program also shares the unique story of a former student of the Bishkek Sejong Institute. A native of Kyrgyzstan, he had the opportunity to delve deeply into Korean language studies. Notably, he is now an instructor at the institute, teaching Korean to students, sparking curiosity about his journey.
Additionally, the 'Walking into the World' team encounters unexpected events in Bishkek. While exploring the city, they come across individuals covering songs by the group BLACKPINK and singer IU. One performer, in particular, impressed the team with their exceptional vocal skills.
'Walking into the World' will showcase the stories of the Sejong Institute in Kyrgyzstan and its attractions, airing on the 5th at 9:40 AM on KBS1.
