There are continued criticisms that the Zero Base One fandom caused a nuisance to other citizens by posting personal items at bus stops without permission from the district office. The fandom may have acted like this out of love for the artist, but the result is a situation where no one can smile.
On the 13th, controversy arose due to illegal outdoor advertising by some Zero Base One fandom. It was revealed that some fandoms had recently placed a number of outdoor advertisements at bus stops near Wake One, Zero Base One's agency.
Most of the contents of the attachment are messages directed to the artist. There are many letters attached to Zero Base One member Han Yu-jin with the phrase “Let’s get married” or “I love you” to another member Kim Tae-rae. In addition, “Jang Hao O LOVE YOU,” “Riki, die,” and “Sung Hanbin, listen only to pretty words,” fill the walls of the bus stop.
Mapo-gu Office, which manages public facilities in the area, appears to be in trouble. An official from Mapo District Office told Ten Asia on this day, "The attachment in question is an illegal advertisement that was not reported or approved during the same period. It varies depending on the size, number of advertisements, etc., but a fine of 25,000 won per piece is usually imposed for large advertisements of 25 or more pieces." “I’m doing it,” he explained.
He continued, "We will look into the circumstances and source of the Zero Base One fandom's posting of the advertisement," and added, "There have been many cases like this in the past. However, due to the lack of proper preventive measures, citizens are experiencing significant inconvenience and damage." pointed out.
In fact, according to the relevant laws (Outdoor Advertising Act), a person who installs reportable advertising materials (excluding billboards, banners, posters, and flyers) without reporting may be subject to a fine of 5 million won. Although this case is a fine under the management provisions of Mapo-gu Office, which manages public facilities, it is the maximum possible fine under administrative procedures.
K-pop fans' nuisance behavior in public facilities continues. In June 2023, the 'Psy Show 2023' was held at the Olympic Main Stadium in Jamsil Sports Complex, Seoul. A 'dripping show' is a concert characterized by enjoying the stage while spraying large amounts of water towards the audience. Accordingly, the organizers provide raincoats and plastic bags to the audience.
However, some audience members caused controversy by riding the subway on their way home with water dripping from their bodies without removing their wet clothes. There were voices on social media criticizing these 'nuisance audience members', saying, "It was not even worth seeing water dripping on the subway floor."
Also, in August of the same year, more than 20 reports were received on the express train bound for Gimpo Airport on Subway Line 9, such as “people are running or falling” and “there is a strange smell.” The police and fire authorities who responded after receiving the report inspected the inside and outside of the train, but it was confirmed that there was no abnormality.
The cause of the commotion was some of the BTS fandom army. At that time, BTS member Suga's solo concert was held at KSPO Dome in Songpa-gu. Suga revealed his shoulder tattoo through a live broadcast right after the concert, and some ARMYs who saw it screamed in the subway, causing an uproar.
As K-pop becomes more popular, the forms of fandom are becoming more diverse. What is important is common sense that can be understood from the perspective of the general public. There are many who are concerned that the inconvenient behavior of some ignorant fans may lead to a worsening of the image of all K-pop fans. This is a time when maturity is required.
