'Escape' starring Lee Je-hoon and Koo Kyo-hwan will be released in July

The movie 'Escape' starring Lee Je-hoon and Koo Kyo-hwan has been confirmed to be released in theaters in July 2024. They entered the summer theater market, the busiest season of the year.

Director Lee Jong-pil's film 'Escape', which features Lee Je-hoon and Koo Kyo-hwan's first joint appearance and showed the power of dreams and empathy through 'Samjin Group English TOEIC Class' and 'Park Ha-kyung's Travels', will be released in July 2024. 'Escape' is a film depicting the life-threatening escape and chase of 'Gyu-nam', a North Korean soldier who dreams of a future beyond the cease-fire line, and 'Hyeon Sang', a National Security Agency officer who must stop him.

'Escape', a movie depicting a breathless chase between a North Korean soldier who crosses the line of life and death and runs towards life on the other side of the barbed wire fence in the Demilitarized Zone, and a North Korean security department officer who must stop him, breaks away from the formula of a division film that mainly depicts confrontation and conflict between North and South Korea. It depicts the universal story that one is alive as long as one dreams.

Films such as ‘Blockman’, ‘Highland War’, ‘Architecture 101’, ‘Park Yeol’, ‘I Can Speak’, and ‘Grave Robbers’, as well as ‘Model Taxi’ and the series ‘Move to Heaven: I am a Keepsake Organizer’. Lee Je-hoon, who delicately portrayed the frustration, strong will, and hidden emotions of a character who encounters reality through the drama, plays Gyu-nam, a North Korean sergeant in his last 10 years of military service who dreams of a new life in the South, not in the North, where the future is predetermined.

A strong impression is made in various appearances regardless of nationality, era, villain or good character in 'Jane of Dreams', 'Peninsula', 'Kingdom: Asinjeon', 'Mogadishu' and 'DP' series, 'Ghost' and 'Gil Bok-soon', etc. Koo Kyo-hwan, who left the film 'Escape', plays Lee Hyun-sang, an officer at North Korea's National Security Agency, an intelligence agency that pursues Gyu-nam to prevent him from escaping.

'Escape' brings together two actors who have publicly stated that it is their dream to act with each other on the same screen, raising expectations for their three-dimensional and colorful acting chemistry.

'Escape' is a new work by director Lee Jong-pil, who previously presented 'Samjin Group English TOEIC Class' and the series 'Park Ha-kyung's Travels'. In 'Escape', director Lee Jong-pil tells a dynamic story with characters who escape and chase across the physical barrier of the Military Demarcation Line and the boundary between dreams and reality.

Director Lee Jong-pil's new film 'Escape' will unfold into a drama about the curiosity raised by the special meeting between Lee Je-hoon and Koo Kyo-hwan, and the conflict and coexistence of characters who escape while dreaming of 'tomorrow' and characters who chase to protect 'reality'. It creates anticipation.
