On this day's broadcast, King Hyeonjong falls into despair after hearing the news that Tak Sa-jeong (played by Jo Sang-ki) abandoned Seo Gyeong-seong and fled, and Ji Chae-moon (played by Han Jae-young) was surrounded by the Khitan army. The ministers insisted that King Hyeonjong surrender before the Khitan army captured Gaegyeong, while Gang Gam-chan argued that he should leave Mongjin for victory, creating a tense confrontation.

Next, Kang Gam-chan and Hwang Bo-yu-eui rush to Jeongjeon and finally face King Hyeonjong. However, Kang Gam-chan is astonished as if he is faced with a reality as if it were a lightning strike, and his eyes are red with tears, raising curiosity about what really happened to King Hyeonjong.
