‘Miss Trot 3’ Kolleen Park announced that although the genres are different, the path to finding a singer who moves people’s hearts is the same.
On the 7th, TV CHOSUN's 'Miss Trot 3', which will be aired for the first time on the 21st, released an interview with Kolleen Park, a music director leading Korean musicals and a new master this season.
Kolleen Park has been carefully watching the unrivaled auditions ‘Miss Trot’ and ‘Mr. Trot’ that changed Trot history. She revealed the reason for his request, saying, “It was interesting to see the process of trot expanding into various ways by mixing new genres,” and “I was curious who the new person who would fly in the diverse trot world would be.”
She was worried when she first received the offer to become a master, but she accepted after the production team persuaded him that she could give harsh advice to the contestants without hesitation. Kolleen Park said, “I had a lot of concerns, but I decided to do it because I like finding new people regardless of music genre.”
Kolleen Park is called ‘Tiger Master’ for his unique charisma and cool-headed judgment. In ‘Miss Trot 3’, Kolleen Park’s judging continues. Kolleen Park majored in Korean traditional music composition and has a deep knowledge of trot. She expressed his affection, saying, “Trot is music that contains our joys and sorrows,” and “Trot is music that can hook you and touch your heart.”
Kolleen Park says that even though time passes and times change, the trot of those days is still loved. She said, “This is possible because it is music that can be easily listened to, sung, and enjoyed,” adding, “Trot is often said to ‘burn and go.’ “Trot is loved because we sing, feel, and cry together,” she added.
Kolleen Park’s evaluation criteria are clear. A person who sings in front of an audience must be 'perfect'. Moreover, since trot is music that reaches the public faster and closer than anyone else, the theory is that the singer's skills must be superior.
Kolleen Park said, “You have to have everything functional, including pitch, beat, interpretation, etc. perfect to be able to communicate with the public and play with the stage. “Only then can you do the art of singing,” she emphasized. She continued, “Because trot is a genre that approaches the public, we must be more polite than any other genre of music. “I will look for a singer with good character who has good manners toward music and the audience,” she said.
Lastly, she said, “Viewers’ perspectives are really accurate,” and asked for a lot of attention, “Only when viewers pay a lot of attention and whip the singers can we find famous singers who will lead Korean trot for a long time.”
'Miss Trot 3' will be holding a 'Visual Week' that will sequentially release individual teasers of 72 people until the 8th. The prospective Trot empresses, armed with overflowing talent and fresh charm, are receiving a lot of attention after they were unveiled.
