On December 3, Gilbot, a volunteer organization for broadcasting, film, and theater professionals, and Korea JTS, an international relief organization, provided briquettes to residents of Guryong Village, Gangnam-gu, Seoul from 1 PM to 3 PM.
Gilbut has been consistently conducting the JTS street fundraising campaign twice a year, on Children's Day and at the end of the year, but has been disappointed that it has not been able to be carried out in the past few years due to the aftermath of COVID-19.
This year, following last year, writer Noh Hee-kyung, actors Jo In-seong, Han Ji-min, Lee Si-eon, Jo Hye-jung, Lim Se-mi, Sang-hee Lee, Seung-do Baek, and 150 others participated in volunteering to provide briquettes with JTS. Celebrities who attended despite their busy schedules said, “It’s nice to be of help like this. “I am touched by the hands moving the briquettes,” he said.
Writer Noh Hee-kyung, who has been volunteering at Gilbut since 2004, said, “I want to do it again, no, every year. It was nice to share briquettes, which conveyed warmth more than anything else. “I am so grateful for this opportunity,” he said, expressing his intention to continue the event every year.
On December 3, Gilbut delivered a total of 4,000 briquettes to 20 households, 200 briquettes per household. This event was held in compliance with the government's quarantine guidelines, and since it is a village where people actually live, no advance publicity was carried out.
