Group BTS won the grand prize at the ‘2023 Mama Awards’ for the 8th consecutive year.
'2023 MAMA AWARDS' was held at 6 PM on the 28th at Tokyo Dome, Japan. This awards ceremony received a lot of attention from around the world, being broadcast live not only through Mnet and tvN SHOW, but also through Mnet K-POP, Mnet TV, KCON, and M2 official channels.
A total of 10 teams, including Tomorrow by Together, BTS, Zero Base One, Enhyphen, Lim Young-woong, ATEEZ, NCT Dream, Stray Kids, Seventeen, and Twice, were honored in the 'Worldwide Fan's Choice' category, the main prize of the awards ceremony on this day. hugged
The 'Worldwide Fans' Choice' award is 100% selected by fan voting, so it holds great meaning for the winning artists. In addition, out of a total of 10 teams, Worldwide Icon of the Year went to BTS.
BTS, whose members are currently serving in the military, was unable to attend the awards ceremony. Member Jungkook said in a video, "I have become the 6th person to be named World Wide Icon of the Year. Thank you for your unchanging love."
He then expressed his feelings about receiving the award, saying, "It's a pity that we can't be together on a day like today. We will meet as a bigger one. I hope you stay healthy and happy until then. I hope we can meet in good shape in the future."
In addition, TVXQ became Inspiring Achievement, Rise and Zero Base One became Favorite New Artist, Yoshiki became Favorite International Artist, Kepler became Favorite Asian Female Group, and Treasure became Galaxy Neo Flip Artist.
The 'Mama Awards' is a global music awards ceremony with a 24-year tradition hosted annually by CJ ENM. This awards ceremony will be held at Tokyo Dome for two days on the 28th and 29th.
