Jung Il-hoon purchased 820g of cannabis worth 133 million won a total of 161 times from July 2016 to January 2019. Accordingly, he was sentenced to two years in prison, three years of probation, and ordered to complete a 40-hour drug treatment program.
After the appeal hearing on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act (marijuana), Jeong Il-hoon said, “During the past few years of investigation, trial, and time spent in prison, I was able to reflect painfully and look back on my life.” He added, “Regardless of the reason, the law “I believe I deserve to be criticized because I felt so keenly that my actions that violated the law could not be justified by any words,” he said.
He added, "It was only after losing many people who were precious to me due to my mistakes that I realized too late and very keenly how I should live and how my attitude toward life should change."
Jung Il-hoon said, “Through this article, I promise once again that I will take care of myself and those around me so that I can make the right choice in any situation, and that I will pay special attention to not making the same mistake again.”
