On the afternoon of the 4th, a production presentation for the drama 'Lovers' was held at MBC Golden Mouse Hall in Sangam-dong, Seoul. Directors Namgoong Min, Eunjin Ahn, Hakju Lee, Lee Dain, Yunwoo Kim, and Seongyong Kim attended.
‘Lovers’ is a historical drama set during the Manchu War. It is a work that depicts the story of the love and hope of the people who crossed paths during the Manchu War.
The spectacular lineup of actors attracted attention even before it aired. Director Kim Seong-yong said, "I'm very happy. I think I met good actors. It's an honor just to be here with them."
In particular, regarding actor Namgoong Min, he said, "He is an undisputed legend. The first thing that came to mind when I received this script after 'Black Sun' was actor Namgoong Min. I wanted to work with him, but I was cautious about making an offer. Because I was working with the same director in succession..." “It was a natural opportunity to talk about the work, and I wanted to personally show you the script,” he said.
He added, "I showed the work to get feedback and make requests, and my senior contacted me right away in 3 days. I felt like I had gained a lot of value."
Anything Namgoong Min appears in, such as ‘Black Sun’ or ‘The Thousand Won Lawyer’, is a hit. There must be some burden about this. He said, "I don't feel much pressure on the outside, but mentally, another me inside of me feels pressure," and "Even though I feel confident in my head, I have trouble sleeping these days. There are many different types of confidence, but confidence in viewership ratings or topicality." "There is. I'm not sure. I tend to be strict with myself. If you ask me if I did my best while doing this work, I can say I did my best. So I think I can handle whatever the outcome is. I dare say that people will like it a lot." I was confident.
Lee Da-in, who returns to 'Lovers' after marriage, said, "I participate with a sense of pressure in each work, but since it is my first work after three years and my first work after marriage, I think I filmed with more pressure and tension than ever before. The actors and staff “Thanks to you, I was able to work comfortably,” he confessed.
'Lovers' is scheduled to run in the same time slot as the SBS drama 'The Police Station Next to the Fire Station and the National Guard' starring Kim Rae-won. Earlier, at the production press conference for SBS's 'The Police Station Next to the Fire Station and the National Tree', a rival to 'Lovers' held on the same day, Kim Rae-won jokingly said, "I didn't know the title of 'Lovers'. Fighting."
Namgoong Min, who heard this news, also jokingly responded, "You said you didn't know that 'lover' has two letters. How many letters does that have?"
He continued, “It’s a competing film in the same time slot, so I hope the friendly competition will be fun and successful.” He then said, “But Mr. Raewon, I am a bit confident,” making everyone laugh.
‘Lovers’ will be aired for the first time on the 4th at 9:50 PM.
