Big Bang's Daesung revealed how he felt about leaving YG Entertainment.
On the 2nd, Daesung revealed a handwritten letter containing his heart through a video posted on his YouTube channel 'D'splay'.
He expressed his gratitude by saying, “I am sincerely grateful to you for taking care of me, raising me, and growing me for a long time when I was just a child.”
He continued, "With that grateful heart in my heart, I am about to embark on a new adventure. Of course, I am also scared and afraid. However, I believe that there will be definite value in this trembling but powerful step."
Daesung asked for encouraging applause, saying, "2023 is approaching, and although it is a step I am taking with a confident heart in front of a vague, foggy future with no way to know the future, I will try to walk that path quietly and boldly."
Lastly, he expressed his still affection for the team, saying, "Someone said, nothing is permanent. No, the only thing that is permanent is Big Bang."
Meanwhile, YG Entertainment announced the end of the exclusive contracts of Big Bang's Taeyang and Daesung on December 26 and 27 last year.
Taeyang has moved to The Black Label under YG Entertainment, and Daesung is looking for a new challenge. However, he said that the group was not disbanded, saying, "There is no change in the fact that Taeyang and Daesung are members of Big Bang."
In addition, Big Bang's G-Dragon hinted at the possibility of 'music activities' this year. A solo comeback in 2023 was announced through Big Bang's official YouTube channel. It is raising fans' expectations.
Member TOP's contract with YG Entertainment expired early last year, and he is communicating with fans with various news, including plans for a space trip.
