Singer Choi Yena has returned with her new album ‘Love War’, which contains a destructive love story.
Yena Choi held a showcase commemorating the release of her first single album 'Love War' at 4 PM on the 16th.
The new album 'Love War' contains the narrative of love seen from Choi Yena's perspective. Inner emotions and stories were expressed directly, yet gently, in Choi Yena's unique colors.
Choi Yena participated in writing and composing the songs ‘Love War’ and ‘Wash Away’ in this album, announcing her musical growth and her start as a singer-songwriter. In addition, musician Colde's production was added to enhance the album's completeness.
The title song of the same name as the album is a song that expresses the most precarious and boring period in the process of love. It features straightforward lyrics and a groovy melody line. In particular, Choi Yena and Bio sing about each other's perspectives as lovers on the verge of separation.
In addition to the title song 'Love War', the intro song 'Love Is Over' and 'Wash Away', which contains the moment of farewell when leaving someone you loved without regret, are also included.
On this day, Choi Yena said, "I wanted to make a definite change during the album recording process. I wanted to reveal my own strengths. I wanted to show a different side of myself than the lively Choi Yena. I also thought a lot about the tone of voice, 'How should I sing it so that listeners will fall in love with it?'" He said.
He said, "While working with Cold PD, the story of featuring in the song came up naturally. I didn't set it up from the beginning and made the song. The musical atmosphere just reminded me of singer Bio."
Choi Yena participated in writing and composing this album. She also mentioned musical inspiration. Choi Yena said, "I like animation. When I rest, I get musical inspiration while watching animation. I also incorporate it into music through movies."
Choi Yena celebrates her first anniversary of her solo debut. He said, "I lived a life like a drama. I never expected to make a solo debut. I think it was fate. I'm still amazed that it's been one year since I received so much attention and love. I won't be afraid of many changes and challenges."
Yena Choi also began her career as a singer-songwriter. He said, "There are a lot of things I want to do, and I have a lot of desire to be on stage. I'm grateful to be on stage every time. My goal is to be active without limits. One of them was writing lyrics and composing music. The work wasn't particularly difficult. I have a lot of sensitivity and empathy. “I’m good at it. The lyrics and melody come out well as if they express emotions,” he said, showing his determination.
Lastly, he said, "The collaboration with Mr. Bio was really good. I was very surprised when I heard the recording. There were no problems during the preparation. I am also satisfied with the album's performance just by working with Cold PD and Bio."
