'The Law' Lee Seon-kyun persuaded Park Hoon and proposed a deal to stab Kim Hong-pa in the back.
The 7th episode of SBS's Friday-Saturday drama 'The Law', which aired on the 27th, recorded an audience rating of 11.6% in the metropolitan area, 11.1% nationwide, and a highest viewership rating of 12.9% based on Nielsen Korea, breaking its own highest viewership rating and ranking first in the same time slot on all channels and a Friday-Saturday drama. It ranked 1st on average, showing the highest viewership rating among the weekly miniseries. The 2049 viewership rating was also 3.9%, continuing the record of being first in the same time slot on all channels.
Eun-yong (Lee Seon-gyun) met Ham Jin (Choi Jeong-in), a prosecutor in the criminal department who was in charge of his case. Hamjin was angry and said, “Isn’t Hwang Ki-seok (played by Park Hoon) the guy who framed you and made our Jun-kyung like that?” Ham Jin reassured himself by saying that he received a lot of help from Park Jun-kyung (played by Moon Chae-won) when he lost the case to Hwang Ki-seok in the past, and that he was also on Eun-yong's side.
However, Hwang Ki-seok merged Eun-yong's case from the Hamjin criminal department to the special department and assigned a lawyer whom he had recruited to put Eun-yong in an even more disadvantageous position. Meanwhile, Chairman Myung (played by Kim Hong-pa) attracted investors by planning the 'Bau Fund', a fund product guaranteed and managed by a large financial company and guaranteeing a high dividend rate. At the same time, Eun-yong bribed a prison guard and kept a close eye on Chairman Myeong and Hwang Ki-seok's secret movements.
Eun-yong said that Chairman Myeong's 'Bau Fund' is in fact a multi-level Ponzi scheme that collects the profits of customers who signed up first with the money of newly registered customers, and after achieving an explosive subscription rate by packaging it with the background of a large, trustworthy financial company, they siphoned off the fund funds and made profits. I figured out the plan to release it. As Eun-yong predicted, Chairman Myeong was planning to manipulate stock prices without Hwang Ki-seok's knowledge. Eun-yong instructed Hong Han-na (played by Kim Hye-hwa) to launch a counter-strategy that would result in full short selling.
Before the first trial, Eun-yong met Park Joon-kyung, Jang Tae-chun (played by Kang Yoo-seok), and Hong Han-na at Hamjin's prosecutor's office and planned a counterattack by informing them of Chairman Myeong's plan to manipulate stock prices with funds from the 'Bau Fund'. Three days later, Eun-yong, who appeared in court, made the shocking statement, "I will fire all my lawyers before the trial" and appointed Park Joon-kyung as his lawyer. Park Jun-kyung declared, “The defendant claims not guilty to all charges claimed by the prosecutor.”
Eun-yong, who knew Chairman Myung better than anyone else, accurately pinpointed the timing of Chairman Myung's profit realization and launched a 'real strategy' to stimulate Chairman Myung and Hwang Ki-seok. Eun-yong sent Hwang Ki-seok documents proving that Chairman Myung had manipulated the stock price of a specific company. Hwang Ki-seok, stunned, went to Chairman Myeong and expressed extreme anger. Hamjin searched and seized the companies, and stock prices, reflecting the bad news, began to plummet. Chairman Myung tried to prevent losses by immediately selling stocks, but Hwang Ki-seok was concerned that his future political activities would be damaged if the suspicion of stock price manipulation became clear, so he fiercely confronted Chairman Myung, telling him to “take care of it on your own.”
Hwang Ki-seok, who was once again cornered by Eun-yong's irregular play, went to see Eun-yong and asked him why he had given up the opportunity to get involved with Chairman Myeong and informed him in advance. In response, Eunyong said, "I will take all the assets that your father-in-law, Chairman Myeong, have and give them to your wife," and proposed an unexpected joint attack, saying, "If you make a deal with me, I can make Chairman Myeong kneel before you."
