Synergy between characters in a work is very important. Just as a face with the most ideal set of eyes, nose, and mouth is not the most attractive appearance, compatibility is on a different level.

Even if you bring together the best male and female actors or bring together a large number of super-luxurious star actors, there are many cases where they fail at the box office because they do not receive support from viewers. Rather, synergy occurs when you create a combination that can complement each other's shortcomings. Because this synergy is a key element that determines the rise and fall of a work, casting directors struggle with it.

The reason why Song Hye-kyo's man, Jeong Seong-il, is fatal
From this perspective, the man who caused a fatal chemistry with Song Hye-kyo (played by Moon Dong-eun) in Part 1 of the Netflix series 'The Glory' is Jeong Seong-il (played by Ha Do-young), not Lee Do-hyun (played by Joo Yeo-jeong).

First, if you look at the relationship between Moon Dong-eun and Joo Yeo-jeong, there is no tension between them. After Joo Yeo-jeong first encountered Moon Dong-eun in the emergency room bed, she fell in love with him. He goes to Moon Dong-eun's school and tells him, "Make sure you take your anemia medication," and even sets himself up as a baduk tutor. He keeps leaving unanswered text messages, and after one reply, he rushes out and says, “Let’s date me.”

Joo Yeo-jeong is completely disarmed by Moon Dong-eun, and at this point, the plausibility of ‘The Glory’ also collapses. After seeing the burn marks all over Moon Dong-eun's body, Joo Yeo-jeong willingly throws away her life to avenge her, saying, "I will make you a sword-dancing bastard." Because the narrative of Joo Yeo-jeong's feelings toward Moon Dong-eun does not persuade the viewer but simply asks them to accept it, the connection between the two feels loose.

The reason why Song Hye-kyo's man, Jeong Seong-il, is fatal
Lee Do-hyun, who was listed as the second character in 'The Glory','s presence in Part 1 was somewhat disappointing. It is pointed out that there is a lack of impact in terms of both the narrative and the actor's acting. However, there is room to look forward to a twist as there is still a part 2 where it is announced that “I will be a sword-dancing bastard.”

On the other hand, the tension between Moon Dong-eun and Ha Do-young is tense. The scene where they recognize their opponent at the first meeting and play Baduk one move after another during the second encounter is breathtaking. The moment when Ha Do-yeong, a baduk fanatic, loses beautifully to Moon Dong-geun and grabs his heart by saying, “50,000 won per hand, how about one more game?” This scene between Dong-eun and Do-young is reminiscent of a scene from a Hong Kong movie, thanks to director Ahn Gil-ho's directing skills.

To Moon Dong-eun, Ha Do-young is the husband of Park Yeon-jin (played by Lim Ji-yeon), who completely ruined her life, and the CEO of Jaepyeong Construction. The fatal relationship between Dong-eun, who approaches someone with a purpose that cannot and should not be achieved, and Do-young, who feels strangely tempted by Dong-eun, is the delicacy of 'The Glory'. Even after that, Moon Dong-eun and Ha Do-young gave a dizzying feeling just by being together and increased the level of immersion, giving rise to the nickname 'the evil couple'.

The reason why Song Hye-kyo's man, Jeong Seong-il, is fatal
Seong-il Jeong is said to be attractively portraying the role of Ha Do-yeong, who does not express much on the outside and appears gentlemanly, but harbors an unseen sword on the inside. It is receiving favorable reviews as a casting that is perfectly suited to the character described as the so-called 'nice dog XX'. What role he will play in Season 2 is also a point of expectation.

Lee Do-hyun and Jeong Seong-il are attracting the attention of many viewers as Song Hye-kyo's men in 'The Glory'. It remains to be seen what kind of synergy it will create with Song Hye-kyo in Part 2 in the upcoming March and garner response and support from viewers.
