Interview with Tay about the musical ‘Ludwig: Beethoven the Piano’
Tei "I started out as a singer and am a simple musician."

Singer and musical actor Tay talked about the similarities and differences with Beethoven.

On February 1, Tay told various stories about the musical 'Ludwig: Beethoven the Piano' at Daehakro, Jongno-gu, Seoul.

'Ludwig: Beethoven the Piano' is a work that sheds light on the human side of Beethoven, the world's greatest composer. It is an original musical that dramatically captures Beethoven's intense agony about his musical talent between admiration and jealousy for Mozart. Starting with its premiere in 2018, it is currently in its 4th year. Tay has been appearing since the reenactment in 2018.

On this day, Tay said, "I feel excited when I make music. I am happy as an individual. I am happy that I can see my personal direction (through the play) and that I have made a plan saying, 'I have to go out like this.' It is the same in the performance. In the future, I will develop further. "It's fun to have the desire to do something. When performing, you can lose your mannerisms and get tired because you're always doing the same thing. But not now. It's fun because I can see that I need to do more," he said, laughing.

Tay plays Ludwig in the play. Ludwig is a young man from Beethoven's youth who struggles with self-doubt and suffering, denying everything including his dreams, piano, and life. Tei debuted in 2004 with the title song 'Love... Leaves a Scent' of 'The First Journey'.

Tay commented on the similarities and differences with Beethoven. He confessed, "The same thing is that music is a big part of life. I think music is a really big part of life. I also suffered a lot because of music."

He continued, "I started my social life as a singer and singer. I did not work for a living, but it is no exaggeration to say that the people I met as an adult met because of music. There are conflicts within music. Both joy and hardship are in music. “I think that part resembles me,” he added.

Tay said, "There are too many differences. I don't think I would ever be a great musician. Beethoven is a great musician. On the other hand, I am a simple musician. It's so different."

Meanwhile, 'Ludwig: Beethoven the Piano' will be performed at Yes24 Stage Hall 1 until March 12.
