'Soulmate' is the story of two friends, Miso (played by Kim Da-mi), Ha-eun (played by Jeon So-ni), and Jin-woo (played by Byeon Woo-seok), who recognized each other from their first meeting and shared everything together, including joy, sadness, excitement, and longing. A remake of the Chinese movie 'Hello, My Soulmate'.
Director Min Yong-geun, who made an impressive debut with the movie 'Hyehwa, Dong', returns with 'Soulmate' 10 years after 'A Certain Perspective - Ice River'. It sheds light on not only friendship but also individual life, and by bringing in the subject matter of painting, it not only raises emotions more dramatically, but also differentiates itself from the original work to stimulate interest.
On this day, Director Min Yong-geun said, "It was the same during filming, and it was the same afterward, when we met occasionally and said that we were looking forward to what would happen when 'Soulmate' was released. Now that "it has become a reality, it feels like a dream has already come true. I am full of excitement ahead of the release." He said.
He continued, "After filming, I feel like my relationships have matured a little bit. The relationship between Mi-so and Ha-eun is the same, the relationship between me and my three actors is the same, and the relationship between Wooseok and the other actors are the same. He has his own unique personality. Things like that. "I feel like I've matured over time. “I’m glad that it’s being released with this relationship progressing,” he added.
Director Min Yong-geun said, "There are Mi-so, Ha-eun, and Jin-woo, and there are real actors, right? While filming, at some point I couldn't tell them apart. It was to the point where I couldn't tell if the person eating with me was Mi-so from the movie or actress Kim Da-mi. “He explained.
Director Min Yong-geun said, "The relationship between us is something to say in real life. There are similar overlaps between the relationship in the movie and the relationship in real life. (Byun Woo-seok) feels more like the youngest brother rather than the youngest brother. In fact, Dami is younger. The two are younger."
