Actor Oh Young-soo denied the allegations of forcible molestation.
On the afternoon of the 3rd, the first trial of Oh Young-soo, who was handed over to trial on charges of forcible molestation, was held at the Seongnam Branch of the Suwon District Court in Gyeonggi Province. Before entering the court, Oh Young-soo said, "I'm sorry. I think I behaved wrongly."
According to Oh Young-soo's lawyer, while the defendant was staying for a theater performance in a local area in September 2017, he walked along a promenade with a woman from a theater company and visited the woman's residence. However, he denied that there was any alleged harassment. At the same time, he argued for dismissal of the indictment, saying that the date of the crime in the indictment was comprehensive.
Oh Young-soo is accused of making inappropriate physical contact with a female member of the same troupe in September 2017, such as hugging or kissing her while walking on a local area.
The victim's lawyer said, "Using his superior position and experience, he hugged a junior member, kissed him by surprise, and molested him several times. When I asked him to apologize, he said he admitted the crime. Even though he never said he would take legal action, he admitted to the charges."
After the first trial, Oh Young-soo said, "I held his hand, but I did not molest him." Next, when asked, "Do you admit to holding hands but not to the charge of molestation?" he answered, "I don't admit it. I did hold hands on the promenade, but I didn't commit molestation."
Meanwhile, Oh Young-soo's second trial will be held privately on April 14 with witness examination.
