Two additional types of narcotics were detected in actor Yoo Ah-in, who is being investigated for habitual use of propofol.
On the 1st, TV Chosun's 'News 9' reported that circumstances had been confirmed that Yoo Ah-in had taken another drug. Additional drug substances, including cocaine, were detected in Yoo Ah-in's hair.
On the 5th of last month, the National Institute of Forensic Science collected and tested the hair of Yoo Ah-in, who entered the country through Incheon International Airport. As a result, propofol and marijuana components were detected in the hair. In addition, the police were notified that two types of drugs, including cocaine and ketamine, were detected.
The number of drugs suspected of being taken by Yoo Ah-in has increased to a total of four types, including propofol and marijuana, followed by cocaine and ketamine. In particular, cocaine causes strong hallucinations and addiction, and is considered one of the three major drugs along with methamphetamine and heroin. Ketamine, used as a general anesthetic, was also classified as a narcotic in 2006 due to concerns about misuse.
The police are continuing their investigation, including search and seizure of the hospital suspected of prescribing propofol to Yoo Ah-in. The police plan to summon Yoo Ah-in as a suspect as early as next week to investigate whether he was a habitual drug user and the circumstances surrounding it.
Previously, Yoo Ah-in's agency, UAA, said, "We ask for your understanding that we cannot arbitrarily reveal our position based solely on media reports in a situation where we have not received any official information from the police."
The agency said, "We have not received any information regarding the future investigation schedule, but we plan to faithfully undergo the investigation as soon as the schedule is set. We apologize once again for causing concern."
