Blackpink Jisoo is attracting attention as she is showing signs of an unusual popularity surge even before her full-fledged solo debut.
According to YG Entertainment, Jisoo's first solo album [ME] exceeded 950,000 pre-orders in just two weeks (as of March 20) after pre-orders began on the 6th. This is the highest number for a single album by a K-pop female solo artist in history.
[ME] recorded 510,000 pre-orders within two days of pre-orders and 840,000 copies within a week. Considering that there are only about 11 days left until the album release date, it is worth looking forward to the title of 'Million Seller', the first for a K-pop female solo artist.
In addition, orders poured in from all over the world, including North America, Europe, China, Japan, and Southeast Asia, as well as from Korea. This part makes you realize Jisoo’s powerful presence in the global music market.
As music fans' extraordinary expectations for Jisoo are already showing up in objective figures, expectations are high for the new history he will write. Jennie, Lisa, and Rosé, who previously emerged as solo artists, have all set new records in album sales, YouTube views, and global charts, setting meaningful milestones in K-pop.
Jisoo will release her first solo album [ME] on March 31st. As the final runner of Blackpink's solo project, not only has the artist put a lot of effort into improving the level of perfection over a long period of time, but also a diverse musical world that fully embodies Jisoo's identity has been heralded. The title song is 'FLOWER', and the music video was filmed on location overseas with the largest production budget in Blackpink's history.
Meanwhile, Jisoo's [ME] physical album will be released in three forms: CD, KiT, and LP. The music will be released at 00:00 Eastern time in the US and 1:00 PM in Korean time.
