Yoo Yeon-seok almost became a victim of false accusations because he was a celebrity. The suspicion that Yoo Yeon-seok had ignored security guards in the past was found to be false. The author of the post online apologized, saying he did it out of jealousy. However, the agency maintained a strong stance, saying it would continue to respond without leniency.
On the 22nd, Yoo Yeon-seok's agency, King Kong by Starship, stated, "After checking the facts with the actor, we confirmed that the content in question is completely unfounded." He then foreshadowed a strong response, saying, "We plan to file a criminal complaint against the author of the post on charges of defamation by stating false information. We have currently appointed a lawyer and are preparing strong legal response procedures." He also added, “Please refrain from posting unfounded rumors or speculative posts in relation to this.”
Recently, a post titled 'Actor Yoo Yeon-seok's personality appears to be a person by person' was posted on an online community. The author of the article, Mr. A, said that his father worked as a security guard at the apartment where Yoo Yeon-seok lived, and that when he was with his friends, Yoo Yeon-seok looked at his father as if he were a bug, laughed at him, pointed at him, clicked his tongue, and ignored him.
When the agency announced that it would take strong legal action, Mr. A admitted that it was false, saying, "I wrote this out of jealousy when (Yoo Yeon-seok) recently appeared on a lot of entertainment programs and gained popularity." He continued, "I didn't know things would get this big. I'm sorry to Yoo Yeon-seok. I've never met him in real life, but I think he's an actor with a good personality and full of consideration. I won't delete the post."
However, Yoo Yeon-seok's side decided to continue filing the complaint. The agency said, "We are very sorry about this situation, and as previously announced, we plan to file a criminal complaint against the author for defamation by publishing false information without leniency."
