A man in his 50s who was suffering from Lou Gehrig's disease expressed his concerns.
A 50-year-old man appeared as a client in the 209th episode of KBS Joy's entertainment show 'Ask Anything', which aired this afternoon (27th).
He asked Lee Soo-geun and Seo Jang-hoon for advice, saying, "How should I tell my mother if she doesn't know yet?"
In 2021, I suddenly felt like my back was losing strength. The client, who later visited the hospital, was diagnosed with a cervical disc. Although he underwent disc surgery, there was no improvement and he was eventually diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's disease.
The client said, "I know my wife, who accompanied me during treatment, and my eldest son, who took care of me when I was hospitalized, but I don't know the specific name of my youngest child's disease yet," and revealed that he was unable to tell his family.
He also said, "My father suffered a head injury in a car accident and was bed ridden for about 7 years. I know very well about nursing care because I used my own hand to defecate. I had no personal time for my family at all. It is very difficult to think about how I will be a burden to my family later. “He said with tears in his eyes.
His mother does not know that he is suffering from Lou Gehrig's disease. Seo Jang-hoon, who heard this, said, “It won’t be easy to explain what kind of disease it is.” He then advised, "I had cervical disc surgery, so I'll just say that for the time being. I really hope that doesn't happen, but if there's a situation where I have to lie down all the time, telling you then... wouldn't it be a better way for the elderly person?"
