To celebrate Arbor Day, the group ATBO visited areas affected by forest fires and carried out meaningful volunteer work.
According to IST Entertainment, in celebration of Arbor Day on the 5th, ATBO visited Sangdang-ri, Buk-myeon, Uljin-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do, which suffered significant damage from forest fires last year, and participated in the '78th Arbor Day Tree Planting Event commemorating the 50th anniversary of national greening.'
This day's event marked the 78th Arbor Day by planting 3,000 thornless trees to deliver hope to local residents who are discouraged by the 2022 Uljin and Samcheok forest fires. The event was organized by the Southern Regional Forest Service, Uljin National Forest Service, and Korea Forest Science High School. About 250 people, including members of the Forest Love Youth Group, the Korea Forest Literature Society, the Southern Forest Association, local residents, Uljin-gun, and the Uljin-gun Mountain (Forest) Association, participated.
Last month, ATBO was appointed as a public relations ambassador for the Korea Forest Love Youth Group in 2023 and announced its actions as an 'environmental guardian', and as the first step in this action, it visited a forest fire-affected area and attended a tree-planting event.
It is said that not only ATBO members but also many employees of their agency, IST Entertainment, participated in this event to further inform the future generation of youth about the importance of forests.
In particular, Ryu Jun-min, whose birthday falls on Arbor Day on April 5, said on behalf of ATBO members, “We, ATBO, are honored to be able to take our first step as public relations ambassadors for the Korea Forest Love Youth Group on Arbor Day. Also, today is my birthday, and I think it is even more meaningful to be able to do something wonderful with so many people who love the forest. “We at ATBO will always love the forest and will do our best to inform as many people about the importance of the environment,” he said, expressing his feelings about participating in the tree-planting event.
Meanwhile, ATBO is a boy group that debuted with 'Monochrome (Color)' in July of last year, and won the 'Rookie Award' in the singer category at the '2022 Asia Model Awards' and 'AAA Focus' at the '2022 Asia Artist Awards' just 5 months after their debut. Achieved two awards at the year-end awards ceremony for ‘Rookie of the Year’. In addition, he was selected as a notable new artist '2022 Choice' at the 'Melon Music Awards 2022', showing his unique presence as a 'big rookie'. ATBO, which recently participated in JTBC's 'Peak Time' as 'Team 5 O'clock', is continuing its global growth by proving its potential by growing in each episode.
