Yoo Ah-in adds zolpidem to list of drug charges

Zolpidem was added to the list of drugs taken by actor Yoo Ah-in (real name Um Hong-sik, 37).

According to a media outlet on the 11th, the police are investigating after Yoo Ah-in was caught by a man who bribed him with prescriptions for zolpidem for non-medical purposes. Zolpidem was added to the drug list of Yoo Ah-in, who was suspected of taking four types of drugs, including propofol, marijuana, cocaine, and ketamine.

On the 10th, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency mentioned the possibility of an accomplice through a press conference, saying, "Ahead of Yoo Ah-in's second summons and investigation, we are further investigating the accomplices who took drugs together."

In relation to this, another media reported, citing an informant, that Yoo Ah-in and his group began to be frequently seen around Lounge A, Club B, and Club C in Itaewon in October last year, and that their acquaintances included models and broadcasters.

According to an eyewitness, Yoo Ah-in and his group were freely going around Lounge A, Club B, and Club C, burning something in the form of a cigarette, and some responded that it was suspicious because the smell was different from regular cigarettes.

The police plan to summon Yoo Ah-in again for questioning once the supplementary investigation into the accomplice is completed. Yoo Ah-in appeared at the police as a suspect on the 27th of last month and was interrogated for about 12 hours.

Another repercussion is expected as claims emerge that the model and broadcaster were the accomplices who took drugs with Yoo Ah-in. The second wave of drug abuse in the entertainment industry launched by Yoo Ah-in has been predicted.
