Go Doo-shim asks his son to take care of the tree.
In the 50th episode of Channel A's 'Mom's Travel, Because I Like Go Doo-shim', which airs on the 11th, Go Doo-shim discovers the Arboretum of Life during a trip to Taean with her son Kim Jeong-hwan.
Founded by the late Dr. Min Byeong-gal, who became a naturalized Korean from the United States in 1979, the arboretum was filled with over 16,000 species of rare plants. As soon as Go Doo-shim entered the arboretum, he exclaimed in admiration as if he were fascinated by the numerous plants that caught his eye.
The arboretum staff introduced Go Doo-shim to the magnolia tree that planted the late Dr. Min Byeong-gal. The employee explains, “Dr. Min left a will saying, ‘When I die, don’t use the cemetery, but plant one more tree in that place.’” Go Doo-shim, who heard this, surprised his son and the staff on site with an unconventional remark to his son, "Can't we talk to the arboretum and have Mom plant a tree here too?"
Go Doo-shim and Kim Jeong-hwan rode a cart together and returned to their childhood. We had a deep conversation while reminiscing about Kim Jeong-hwan's childhood at a cafe that was remodeled from a closed school. Additionally, the mother and son tasted abalone rice with seaweed called semogasari and Taean's famous octopus soup with gourd and wheat soup.
The 50th broadcast of 'Mom's Travel, Because I Like Go Doo-shim', which contains the warm travel story of Taean by Go Doo-shim and Kim Jeong-hwan, can be seen on Channel A at 8:10 pm on the 11th.
