Director Lee Byung-hun gave a cheerful answer to the secret to his unique ‘taste of words.’

On the 24th, director Lee Byung-hun was interviewed about the movie 'Dream' (directed by Lee Byung-hun) at a cafe in Sogyeok-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul.

On this day, director Lee was asked, 'What is the source of your unique taste in words?' and jokingly said, "I am worried whether I should answer with a cheeky version or a humble version."

When a reporter asked for both versions, director Lee laughed and said, "If I tell you the cheeky version, it's a talent my parents gave me. In other words, I was born with it."

Director Lee Byung-hun then chose ‘endless elaboration’ as the secret to ‘taste of words’. “I write a lot at first and then revise it a lot. I don’t think that dialogue is important in all works. In some works, dialogue is important, in some works, visuals are more important, and in some works, action is important. I mainly do dialogue. I did an important work. It was a story about people close to me. An important cinematic element in my film was the character's dialogue, so I put a lot of effort into it. I thought I had to change a lot of the dialogue, and the process was very long. "

When asked about the approximate number of revisions, he said, ‘It is difficult to estimate.’ Director Lee laughed, saying, "The way I revise is if there are pages 1 to 30, I start from the beginning every time. There are times when I can't even get past one page. There are almost no typos because I keep reading over and over again."

"Rhythm is very important in my lines. I don't think I should keep using this word just because it's important. I tend to change the flavor of my lines a lot while doing a lot of editing. I often joke and say to people in charge, 'I am ‘The first draft is the final draft.’ That’s how much I read and revise.”

Director Lee Byung-hun, who attracted 16.26 million viewers with the movie 'Extreme Job', is making a big screen comeback with 'Dream' after about four years. 'Dream' is the story of Hong Dae (played by Park Seo-joon), a former soccer player with no sense, and So-min (played by IU), a passionless producer, who attempt to achieve an impossible dream together with a ragtag group of homeless national team players. It is an adaptation of the true story of the 2010 Homeless World Cup, in which Korea participated for the first time. It will be released on the 26th.
