Lee Do-hyun, conflict with Ra Mi-ran... Viewership rating 3.6%

A conflict arose between Ra Mi-ran and Lee Do-hyeon.

In the JTBC Wednesday-Thursday drama 'Bad Mom', which first aired on the 27th, the incident that overturned the life of Young-sun (played by Ra Mi-ran), who lived a life where even the smallest moments in ordinary life were considered happiness, caused great shock and sadness from the beginning.

The story of Young-soon, who had no choice but to become a bad mother for her son Kang-ho (played by Do-hyeon Lee), who was left alone in the world after the unfair death of her beloved husband Hae-sik (played by Jin-woong Cho), stood out. Accordingly, the first episode recorded viewer rating 3.6% nationwide and 4.2% in the metropolitan area (Nielsen Korea, based on paid households), and the target 2049 viewer rating was ranked first for a Wednesday-Thursday drama, signaling a good start.

On this day's broadcast, Young-soon responded to Hae-sik's simple but sincere marriage proposal, and the two became a couple and continued their sweet newlywed life. Every day waiting for the child to be born next fall was a series of happiness. However, ahead of the Olympics to be held that year, news came as a surprise to the couple.

They received an unreasonable demand for demolition from Yongra Construction, saying that the area in front of the pig farm on which the two people depended on their livelihood would be used as a torch relay route and marathon course. Hae-sik fought to protect the pig farm, but Yongra Construction director Song Woo-byeok (played by Choi Moo-seong) took everything away with intentional arson. Haesik entered into a lengthy legal battle. However, the attitude of the village residents, who had unanimously said that it was the Yongna Construction people's doing, changed overnight.

At the time, false testimony arose that the fire was a problem with the pig farm's electrical facilities and that the synergists found at the site were kept by Hae-sik. In the end, Haesik, whose charges were dismissed, set out to reveal the truth. Fortunately, the neighbors I met outside the court confessed that there was nothing they could do in the face of their money and power. And Hae-sik went to the prosecutor in charge, Oh Tae-soo (played by Jeong Woong-in), to file an appeal and revealed all the facts. There was no way he knew that he was a rotten Dong-A-Jul who was on Song Woo-Byeok's side.

That night, Young-sun faced Hae-sik, who had become a cold corpse in the hospital morgue. She said she had found important evidence and revealed the truth about the fire incident, and questioned the suspicious death of her husband, who had promised to expose Song Woo-byeok's corruption. In response, Oh Tae-su handed Yeong-sun the bankbook left by Hae-sik. It was money saved for the baby in the womb. Even though he knew of Song Woo-byeok's ruthless crime, Oh Tae-soo made Hae-sik believe that he had made an extreme choice. There was nothing more that Youngsun could do with her power. However, I made up my mind to “let's live” for the sake of the child I would meet soon. And with the promise, “I will not let this child live like us,” she headed to Jouri Village with her pregnant body.

Yeongsun's entry into Jouri was not easy. The appearance of strangers was not enough, and when a pig farm was built, the opposition of the village people was strong. However, it turns out that thanks to the warm and friendly residents, Young-sun was able to give birth safely and became special neighbors with people including Mr. Jeong (played by Kang Mal-geum), who gave birth to a child at the same time. True to the name Kang-ho that Hae-sik gave him when he was alive, Yeong-soon worked hard to raise his only son to be a strong and powerful person. Even though I studied hard to become a judge and prosecutor, I had no choice but to become a bad mother who did not send me on a picnic even once and did not allow me to eat or sleep easily.

Instead of pursuing his dream, Kang-ho lived as a fool who only knew how to study in order to become a judge and prosecutor, which his mother Young-soon had decided for him from the day he was born. As time passed, the day of the decisive battle arrived, when Yeongsun and Kangho's efforts would shine. It was Kangho's CSAT test day. However, Miju, who came to support Kangho, got into a car accident in front of the exam room, and Kangho gave up the test and stayed by Mijoo's side at the hospital. What came back to him was his mother Young-sun's baptism of water. Young-sun's words, "Why ruin your life because of someone else?" stimulated Kang-ho, who had endured it all his life. He said that it was his mother's life, not his, and asked, "Is it my fault that my father died because he was wronged?" He also turned his back on his mother, Yeong-sun, saying, “It was unfair that she suffered because she was powerless, and she wanted to use me to gain that power.”

At the end of the broadcast, prosecutor Kang-ho was depicted standing in court. In a trial related to a fall incident that occurred at a construction site, he sentenced the representative of a subcontractor to three years in prison for failing to install safety devices. The defendant's wife was waiting in front of the prosecutor's office after returning from the trial. She asked Kang-ho for help, saying that her husband had been threatened by the construction company Woobyeok Construction and that the lawyer was also one of them. However, Kang-ho called somewhere and reported, “Things have become a bit of a headache.” It took an unexpected twist by hinting at an unusual relationship with Song Woo-byeok, the former director of Yongra Construction and the current chairman of Woo-byeok Group, who caused Hae-sik's death.
