Lee Dong-wook's life for a month began in 1938. As a result, it recorded the highest viewership rating of 9.8%.
On the 8th, based on Nielsen Korea's paid platform, the viewership rating for episode 2 of tvN's Saturday-Sunday drama 'Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938', which aired the previous day, recorded an average of 8.3%, a high of 9.8%, for households in the metropolitan area, and an average of 7.1%, a high of 8.3% for households nationwide, including cable and general programming channels. It took first place in its time zone. In viewership ratings for men and women in their 20s and 49s, which is the target of tvN, it ranked first on all channels, including terrestrial channels, with an average of 3.7% and a maximum of 4.4% in the metropolitan area, and an average of 3.8% and a maximum of 4.7% nationwide.
On this day's broadcast, Lee Yeon (played by Lee Dong-wook) was depicted beginning her hunt in 1938 in earnest. While the fight with Hong Baek Tal, who was targeting each other, was on fire, the fact that his identity was Lee Yeon's friend Cheon Moo-young (played by Ryu Kyung-soo) raised curiosity about their tangled relationship.
Lee Yeon visited the Immigration Office in 1938 in search of a way to return to modern times. Taluipa (played by Kim Jeong-nan) offered to teach him how to do it if he brought back Manpasikjeok, the flute. Taluipa's explanation was that Manpasikjeok, a dangerous object that can blow up an entire mountain if played properly, is now in the hands of Japan. Lee Yeon and Lee Rang (played by Beom Kim) board a train that is said to have a safe transportation method along that route. Lee Rang, who had released a bandit group in advance, succeeded in wiping out all the passengers' luggage while the train entered the tunnel, but for some reason, there was no shortage of passengers.
The person who stole Manpasikjeok was none other than Lee Yeon's friend and former western mountain god Ryu Hong-ju (played by Kim So-yeon). After hearing that Lee Yeon was looking for the flute, Ryu Hong-joo deliberately intercepted the flute to trick him. He called Lee Yeon to his special room and handed her the item with a happy face, saying, "It's been a while, fox. Now come live with me." But when Lee Yeon refused, her attitude changed in an instant. Ryu Hong-ju, who even took out a great sword at some point, began to attack Lee Yeon with a fierce force, and Lee Yeon also had a hard time due to his monstrous strength. Fortunately, Lee Rang came to rescue his brother, and the sweet and bloody encounter between the two friends seemed to come to an end.
The reunion came quickly. There are 29 days left until the lunar eclipse, which opens the gate of time that the Talui faction told us about. Until then, the owner of Myoyeonggak, who returned to live for a month in 1938, was none other than Ryu Hong-ju. There were also advantages. This is because Ryu Hong-ju was the best source of information in Gyeongseong. Lee Yeon asked him to find a red and white mask, and Ryu Hong-joo put a condition on him to be a proxy judge at the Miss Joseon contest instead. He suspected that the three insects that cause abnormal appetite and lust in people had spread throughout the world.
The prediction was correct. One of the participants in the competition was the host of three insects. He suddenly changed and harmed people mercilessly, even eluding Lee Yeon's pursuit, he quickly disappeared. Seonwoo Eun-ho (played by Kim Yong-ji), who was also a judge, spread the rumor that not only the missing contestant but also other Gyeongseong beauties had turned into yaksha-like people. They also said that they all had something in common: they all used Seungja Choi's hair salon.
Accordingly, Lee Yeon and Lee Rang went to work at the beauty salon in question undercover. The two soon discovered that someone had released worm eggs into the shampoo, and that all the women who washed their hair with it had become hosts. While the brothers, who had subdued the women who had become Yaksas, were sighing, the culprit appeared. He was none other than King Jo (played by Sae-ro-mi Lee), a middle-aged employee who worked at a beauty salon and a native deity. He, who had a distorted face due to being burned in a furnace, said he couldn't stand the idea of a beauty salon with mirrors on all sides entering his area. Then, the moment Hongbaektal confessed that he had given him the three insect eggs, King Jo disappeared in an instant.
For a moment, after being disturbed by the red-and-white mask's actions that were revealed again, a happy face appeared in front of Lee Yeon. Following him was Koo Shin-ju (played by Hwang Hee), who made an emergency landing in 1938. He had been through all kinds of hardships, from conscription crisis to theft, and as soon as he saw his brother, he burst into tears. The sight of the three people meeting again after a long time made me even more curious about the story that would unfold in the future.
Ryu Hong-ju succeeded in tracking down Hong Baek Tal as requested by Lee Yeon. He was none other than Cheon Mu-yeong, the former North Mountain God who was a friend of the two. Even after his identity was discovered by Ryu Hong-joo, Cheon Moo-young said meaningful words, saying, "I am no longer the Cheon Moo-young you knew. That goes for Lee Yeon as well."
