Actor Song Joong-ki tried to join his pregnant wife at the red carpet event at the 76th Cannes International Film Festival, but unfortunately it failed.
On the afternoon of the 24th (local time), the official screening of the movie 'Hwaran' (director Kim Chang-hoon) was held at the Debussy Theater in Palais des Vestivals, Cannes, France. Along with director Kim Chang-hoon, actors Song Joong-ki, Hong Sa-bin, Kim Hyung-seo (Vivi), and CEO Hwang Ki-yong stood on the red carpet together.
This is the first time Song Joong-ki has entered Cannes. 'Hwaran' (director Kim Chang-hoon), which became Song Joong-ki's first film to enter Cannes, was named in the Un Certain Regard section at the Cannes International Film Festival. This section introduces unique works depicting various regions and cultures. 'Hwaran' is a low-budget noir film, in which Song Joong-ki appeared with no carity. The story unfolds as Yeon-kyu (played by Sa-bin Hong), a boy who wants to escape from a hellish reality, meets Chi-geon (played by Song Joong-ki), the boss of the organization, and joins them in the precarious world.
Originally, Song Joong-ki and his wife, Katie Louise Saunders, were planning to attend the official screening, but it was reported that they did not watch the movie considering some violent scenes in the movie as they were about to give birth.
Song Joong-ki announced his marriage report and pregnancy news to Katie Louise Saunders, a British actress, in January. Song Joong-ki, a prospective father, attracts attention as he is spending happy days as an actor and as a person.
