Pop star Tina Turner, dubbed the 'Queen of Rock and Roll', has passed away. Age of death 83 years old.
According to Reuters on the 24th (local time), Turner's spokesperson said that after a long struggle, Turner died peacefully at his home in Kuessnacht, near Zurich, Switzerland.
Turner debuted in the 1950s, at the beginning of the rock and roll era, and was loved in the 1970s and 1980s.
Turner has also won a total of eight Grammy Awards. The performance held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 1988, which mobilized 180,000 spectators, is still evaluated as an achievement.
Turner and Ike Turner formed the duo 'Ike and Tina Turner' in 1960 and produced numerous hits such as 'River Deep Mountain High'. The two were married in 1962, but divorced in 1976 due to Ike's violence. Turner confessed after the divorce that she was assaulted and abused by her husband during their marriage, resulting in black eyes, torn lips, and repeated trips to the emergency room.
Turner met German music producer Erwin Bach in 1985 and moved to London, England in 1988. After that, he continued to live in Europe. After dating for 27 years, Bach and I got married in Switzerland in 2013. Upon marriage, he renounced his American citizenship and acquired Swiss citizenship.
Turner has also appeared in films. She played the role of Acid Queen in the rock opera 'Tommy' (1975), in which the legendary British rock group 'The Who' participated. He appeared in the lead role in 'Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome' (Mad Max 3) (1985). In 1995, he sang the theme song for the '007' series movie 'Golden Eye'. Turner announced his retirement after a world tour in 2008-2009.
The sad news of Turner's death continues. Rolling Stone's Mick Jagger posted a picture of himself with Turner on Twitter that day, saying, "Turner was a truly incredibly talented performer and singer."
