BLACKPINK Jennie took first place in the Media Impact Value category at this Cannes Film Festival.
On the 31st of last month (local time), the US fashion media WWD announced that "this year's Cannes Film Festival created a total of $1.3 billion (about 1.7034 trillion won) in MIV (Media Impacted Value)."
"Among the attendees, Jenny took first place, creating a value of 1.9 million dollars (about 2.5 billion won)."
MIV (Media Impacted Value) is a program developed by US marketing platform Launchmetrics. Influencers are exposed to media, including social networking services (SNS), and tell how much they have reached the audience in terms of monetary value.
Previously, Jenny was officially invited to the Cannes Film Festival in France on the 23rd of last month (Korean time) in the non-competition section. Jenny attended the world premiere of the American HBO drama series 'The Idol', her first acting challenge since her debut.
On this day, Jennie caught the attention of the media and the public by wearing a white dress from luxury brand Chanel, of which she is an ambassador. WWD explained, "This Cannes Film Festival has contributed greatly to Chanel's overall MIV. Chanel earned $26.2 million and ranked fourth for the brand."
He also added, "As K-pop's influence grows, Korea is a great (promotional) opportunity for luxury brands. In addition to Chanel, Prada, Gucci, Saint Laurent, and Celine have selected K-pop stars as ambassadors."
