Comedian Jung Sung-ho gave a meaningful voice as a father of multiple children.
Jung Sung-ho recently appeared on JTBC's 'Newsroom''s new section 'Newsell' and criticized the government's policy on the low birth rate.
Jung Sung-ho raised his voice saying that having a lot of money does not mean having many children. He emphasized, "Even a wealthy family should have a child. Parenting is a sacrifice. The benefits from the country are not important. I have to think about whether I have the mindset to sacrifice for my child."
Like a father of many children, Jung Sung-ho picked 'sacrifice' as the core of parenting. He said, “If I don’t change my living pattern, there is no place for sacrifice.”
He saw the economic benefits given by the country as 'useless' if he had more than two or three children. Jeong Seong-ho raised his voice, saying, "If you give birth to a child, you will get an apartment? Then you say, 'Let's go buy an apartment tonight'? What kind of parenting is that? It's ridiculous."
Jeong Seong-ho, who said, "People don't have children because they have a lot of money," said, "But because parents have to sacrifice and hold a child (parenting is difficult), sacrifice is not proportional to money."
Jeong Seong-ho saw that creating an environment in which mothers and fathers can sacrifice for childrearing is the key to countermeasures against low birth rates. He added, "I want to change the environment where dad and mom can make sacrifices," and added, "When I go on 6-month parental leave, they say, 'Ah, I said I was getting married, but I didn't choose you.' But can you have a child?"
He emphasized, "I raised one, but I need to create an environment where my mother thinks, 'Okay, I can give birth to another one'."
On the other hand, Jung Sung-ho married Kyung Mal-geum in 2010 and had 3 sons and 2 daughters. He is the representative daddy dad in the entertainment industry.
