On the afternoon of the 19th, a production presentation for Genie TV's original drama 'House with a Yard' was held at Stanford Hotel Korea in Mapo-gu, Seoul. Actors Kim Tae-hee, Lim Ji-yeon, Kim Seong-oh, Choi Jae-rim, and director Jung Ji-hyun attended the event.
Based on the bestseller of the same name, 'House with a Yard' is a suspense thriller about two women living completely different lives due to a strange smell coming from the backyard. This is a new work by director Jung Ji-hyun, who directed the dramas 'Enter a search term WWW' and 'Twenty Five Twenty One'.
In the play, Kim Tae-hee took on the role of Joo-ran. Joo-Ran is a character who lives a picturesque life in a perfect house, but is disturbed by the smell of corpses in the backyard. Especially 'Hi Bye, Mama!' Kim Tae-hee, who returned after 3 years, challenges her first thriller since her debut with 'House with a Yard'.
On this day, Kim Tae-hee said, "I heard that you came back after 3 years. I was so busy with my daily life that I didn't realize time was passing. I read the script while thinking about my return, and when I read the script for this work, I was immersed in it, even though it was a thriller, an unfamiliar genre." said.
"When the script for part 1 was finished, I was curious about part 2 and the character Joo-ran. The moment I imagined what it would be like to express and act as Joo-ran, my heart trembled. It was. The actors I worked with also wanted to try acting, so I think it's luck."
Kim Tae-hee said, “Out of all the roles I have played, Joo-ran is a person who originally had no words and had a closed life, a person with low social skills and unable to freely express his emotions or opinions outwardly. There were many cases. I became completely in Juran's mind and tried to act with that feeling as much as possible."
In addition, Kim Tae-hee said, “Isn’t Lim Ji-yeon an unfortunate role? She is a victim of domestic violence, and she is feeling weak and depressed on set. Ju-ran’s gaze at Sang-eun is the same. "But I had no choice but to be wary and couldn't believe it. I think there were parts similar to me. Abstraction was there in itself so that I could feel complex and subtle emotions beyond compassion. It was a great help."
