Korean actress Park Bo-young has been cast in a new teen film, the film’s production firm said on Wednesday.
An official of Damso Film told TenAsia over the phone that Park has been cast in the film tentatively titled “Blood Boiling Youth,” which will crank up in July.
An official with KARA’s agency DSP Media also told TenAsia over the phone the same day that member Hara may take part in the film although she has not made a decision.
The romantic comedy film, set in the early 80s, centers on the youth of high school students and their stories of growing up. Here, Park will shed her previous image as a sweet and innocent girl and transform into a charismatic mean girl.
This will be Park’s return to the big screen for the first time since lending her voice for the Korean version of Russian animated film “The Snow Queen” in February, and mega-hit romantic film “A Werewolf Boy” last October.
All members of KARA are currently busy filming five-part cine drama “Secret Love,” set to be shown this fall.
