KBS’ drama “Ohlala Couple” has made its debut atop the Monday and Tuesday primetime ratings chart.
“Ohlala Couple” claimed its first win on the chart by posting an average rating of 12.5 percent during the first week of October, according to data compiled by TNmS [Total National Multimedia Statistics] Wednesday.
The whimsical TV series received the baton from the former winner, MBC’s medical series “Golden Time,” which ended its run last week.
The Kim Jung-eun and Shin Hyun-joon starrer raised the roof this week by comically portraying a married couple–Ahn Soon-ae [played by Kim] and Nam Il-seok [played by Shin]–finding out their souls have been switched.
Chasing the chart-topper with a thin margin is MBC “Maeui” [in Romanized Korean], which kicked off its run on Monday and earned the support of 11.3 percent of the total viewers.
Helmed by famed director Lee Byung-hoon of “Jewel in The Palace” (MBC, 2003-2004), the historical drama tells the story of veterinarian Baek Gwang-hyun [portrayed by actor Cho Seung-woo] becoming a royal physician in the Joseon Dynasty period.
SBS’ historical fantasy “The Faith,” starring actress Kim Hee-seon and actor Lee Min-ho, sat in the last place after registering 10.4 percent in ratings.
Meanwhile, AGB Nielson Media Research showed different orders from the TNmS’ during the same time frame.
While “Ohlala Couple” dominated the chart with 12.7 percent of the audience tuned in, “The Faith” and “Maeui” followed next with 9.4 and 9.2 percent, respectively.
